Moorhouse’s Brewery has added White Witch to its core portfolio following a well-received initial roll-out as a spring seasonal cask ale.
The 3.9 per cent ale becomes the sixth brand within the Pendle Witches line-up alongside Black Cat, Premier Bitter, Blond Witch, Pride of Pendle and Pendle Witches Brew.
The Moorhouse’s creative brewing team blended Brewers Gold hops with the noble German-origin Tettnang variety for the blonde-style ale, which aims to deliver a “refreshing fruity flavour, with a touch of citrus, flowers and rich peppery spice on the aroma”.
The move is expected to further build business nationally for the Moorhouse’s brewery complex in Burnley, which has capacity to produce 15 million pints per year.
Managing director David Grant (pictured) said: “Blonde and golden ales are now popular through the year and White Witch is already our second top-selling brand.
“We expect it to further spread the word nationally that we are brewing top-quality beer in Lancashire with real provenance.”
