The Calico Group is made up of four companies – employing approximately 350 people – with a shared vision:

The Calico Group’s headquarters is in Burnley, although it operates across the North West and Lancashire, with significant activity in areas such as Manchester, Lancaster, Preston, Bury, Ribble Valley, Blackburn, Pendle, Rossendale and Hyndburn. The principle activities of the Calico Group companies are set out below.
Calico Homes Limited owns and manages approximately 4,500 homes in Lancashire and aims to make a difference to the quality of life of individuals and the wider communities in which it works. We provide accommodation for families and older people, plus student housing, supported housing and services for homeless people.
Calico Enterprise Limited works with a host of organisations to deliver a range of services across North West England that: provide housing-related support; tackle worklessness; and give information and advice. Such services include: Calico Interiors, Constructing the Future Lancashire, National Careers Service contract, Calico Creative (creative and digital sector social enterprise), Help Direct and Floating Support contracts in East Lancashire and Bury. Calico Enterprise Limited was established in 2007 and is a charitable company that is a subsidiary of Calico Homes Limited.
East Lancashire Women’s Refuge Association (ELWRA) provides services across East Lancashire and Lancaster for victims of domestic violence and abuse. ELWRA is a registered charity – that was originally set up in 1974 – and joined The Calico Group in April 2011.
Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction Limited is a newly created company (Summer 2012) that will deliver an estimated £88 million of house building and refurbishment/investment programme works over the next ten years. This company trades commercially across the North West carrying out work for a variety of other clients as well as for Calico Homes Limited. It will also contribute to the work of Calico Enterprise in meeting its ambitious worklessness objectives through the provision of training and apprenticeship opportunities.
