Burnley based Thingimijigs, the successful online sales hub for children’s clothes, toys and accessories and self proclaimed “shopping site for busy mums” appeared in national newspaper The Guardian at the weekend in a series of articles to celebrate 15 years of ebay.
Run by Rachel and Colin White, the company began from the couples kitchen table with an initial £200 investment of fancy dress, children’s accessories and gifts which they sold through ebay and a little over 10 years later is a global business with its own e-commerce website turning over £1.4million from a warehouse on Liverpool Road.
Rachel told the Guardian that “The inspiration for thingimijigs.com 10 years ago came from shopping for our three children. We said: ‘If they are asking for it, surely other children want it.”
