Usha is an award-winning restaurant serving authentic Indian and Bangladeshi food with a twist. Lancashire born Executive Head Chef and owner Ibrahim Ali (Ibby) has over 20 years’ experience in the restaurant business, has trained in restaurants and hotels across the work and worked with some of the best Indian chefs including Michelin starred chef Atul Kochhar.
At Usher, the food is based on traditional flavours but cooked with a lighter touch. Using fresh ingredients including spices imported from their own factory in Bangladesh, Ibby creates Indian fusion dishes which are not only delicious but also much healthier than Indian food is considered to be.
As well as the restaurants on Rossendale Road, they also offer a takeaway service in Burnley, Haslingden and Darwen and do outside catering for parties, anniversaries and other events. Their special wedding service means that they can help to make your special day go without a hitch, not only do they cater for both Asian and British weddings but the can also help with other arrangements from cars to flowers.
In 2016 Usha will be opening a cookery school at the restaurant where customers can come along to the classes and learn from Ibby how to cook authentic Indian and Bangladeshi food from the tastiest curry to gorgeous Indian Breads. Usha are also producing a cookery book full of delicious recipes based on the restaurant menu.
Ibby is passionate about Burnley and is proud to be part of the town where he has spent the the majority of his life and where his children are growing up. He works with several local charities including the Elizabeth Street Project where the Usha chefs make free meals to be distributed to the homeless across the town.
