Today’s venue was the Landmark, which was a preview event for the newly renovated building. It’s the former Grammar School, which is currently being restored to not only its former glory, but with the highest in technology fitted.
The building will be a hi tech hub for business, either for people looking to rent an office premises there, or there will also be a membership ‘club’ for smaller businesses who don’t need a long term lease. The building will also incorporate a brand new event space.
We were given a short history of the building which dates back to the 1500s, by Mark Crabtree of AMS Neve, the new owner and co-founder of the Landmark workspace alongside David Walker of Plus 24 Marketing.
Bondholders also enjoyed a talk from Alan Cross of the European Space Agency (ESA) – its mission is to shape the development of Europe’s space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to Europe and the world. Alan is looking to fund projects using any kind of space technology, from GPS to Big Data, and hopefully some of those projects will start up right here in Burnley.
We were also joined by Mark Thwaite of Digital Lancashire, with an update on projects and their use of The Landmark as a base in East Lancashire.
