Coolkit Staying Ahead of the Game

Burnley-based fridge van conversion specialist CoolKit Ltd has launched a brand-new solution for a refrigerated box body at this year’s CV Show.

The insulated box body fitted onto a Mercedes Sprinter MWB chassis features a lot of firsts – including new ‘fit and forget’ LED cluster lights, resulting in less maintenance on the vehicles.

Rupert Gatty, Managing Director, said: “CoolKit has a reputation for innovation and we always aim to stay ahead of the competition.

“CoolKit’s refrigerated box body offers an enviable payload capability compared to its closest competitors – offering a payload of 1191kg.”

“We have designed an insulated box body that will offer durability, quality, strength, flexibility and capabilities way above current industry standards.”

This innovative design will come with a range of features as standard, including gloss interior, aluminium sections, stainless steel rear frames and door furniture, together with a high impact GRP interior surface which is lighter and stronger than current industry solutions.

CoolKit’s box body showcased at the CV Show also features rear door central locking – another first for UK box body vehicles. The mechanism has a two-stage lock for safety with no visible exterior fixings. With no fixings visible on the roof or base of the box body, the design has a sleeker look and feel, mirroring the high standards the company operates at.

With anti-slip GRP flooring, door aperture to allow a fully loaded pallet at 1340mm width, 360 degree camera system, under chassis refrigeration unit and light-weight rear step fitted to the full width of the door opening, this box body solution has pushed boundaries of design, innovation, materials and technologies, creating a refrigerated vehicle never seen before in the UK market.
