The future looks bright for Burnley based lighting company

Burnley business, Bright LED has enjoyed a strong start to 2017 after securing contracts of over £500,000.

The LED lighting specialist has been appointed by global communication and technology company, Verizon, to manufacture and install low energy LED lighting across its UK offices and warehouses. Further wins come from several commercial and industrial clients across the UK and Europe.

The company has seen significant growth since it was established in 2011, with a further six jobs created at its AMS Technology Park Head Office as a result of the recent wins. The skilled team design, manufacture, import and supply bespoke LED lighting and fittings for use in offices, retail stores, warehouses, commercial units and more recently, street lighting.

Low energy LED lighting is on the increase as organisations look for cost and energy savings. By 2030, it’s estimated that LEDs will account for 75 percent of all lighting sales. BrightLED has an international customer base and a reputation for innovative design but it also continues to play an important part in local life. The company’s products were used as part of Burnley town centre’s £3m refurbishment in 2016, with new luminaries manufactured and installed throughout the town centre. The new lighting is projected to reduce town centre running costs by up to 60%, with a huge reduction in maintenance and improved light levels.

BrightLED now plans to expand its bespoke design service and increase UK production. An investment programme throughout 2017 will see the installation of new equipment which will increase production by 50% and create a number of further jobs.

Managing Director Neil Hardy commented “We have had an exciting and successful few years which looks set to continue throughout this year. We are proud to be manufacturing innovative lighting products, here in Burnley, and supplying them to some of the world’s leading companies.

“As a member of the Made in Britain campaign, which supports and promotes British manufacturing, our vision is to grow our production capacity and provide local employment opportunities. We are proud that over 80% of our workforce is from Burnley and look forward to welcoming more local people into our business this year.”
