Transform Crafts was established in 2013 by local charity Lancashire Women’s Centres, with a brief to deliver arts and crafts classes as support to women with mental health and social issues. For 4 and a half years the project did this across multiple sites and supported women. In the summer of 2017 Transform Crafts split with the centres and by October Transform Crafts Community interest Company was born. From our base on Hargreaves Street in the town centre we have strived to continue to support not only women but the whole community. We continue to run arts and crafts classes based around wellbeing, self care and management and support whilst developing other creative offers for the whole community and private art tuition too.
We also have a boutique shop selling handmade goods made by local crafters and artisans including exclusive collections of hand woven goods made on our traditional hand weaving loom. Jewellery, cards and gifts alongside local art works all feature insotre too. We also have an online shop on Etsy and in 2018 sent products to America, France and Germany as well as all over the UK.
We have a good presence online via social media using Facebook and Instagram as our main deliverence with Twitter and Pinterest accounts too. You can also find us on the Creative Lancashire directory and regular updates on google too. We post all our course content online and are continuing to welcome new students through our doors week on week. New students all levels welcome to join anytime.
2019 is set to be an exciting year for us as we are hoping to build our own website along with being featured in the Burnley magazine, joining Burnley Bondholders, launching our Craft Club Rewards Scheme and 1 of our Directors has an art exhibition at the Mechanics later in the year and this is just what we know of at the beginning of January.
