Burnley Education Campus

The combined education campus in Burnley was completed in summer 2009 at a total cost of £84m.  The iconic building is located on a 10-acre site on Princess Way on the edge of Burnley town centre, providing an unmistakable presence on a key gateway into Burnley.  The campus incorporates a Sixth Form Centre, Skills and Adult Centre and for the first time brings a university into Burnley.

Burnley College Sixth Form Centre

Burnley College Sixth Form has transformed over recent years and is now among the highest performing schools and colleges in the Country.At its Ofsted inspection in May 2009 the College was judged as Outstanding, with the inspectors commenting on the particularly impressive numbers of students progressing onto higher education.  The College has continued to be recognised and in 2010 was named a Learning and Skills Improvement Services (LSIS) Beacon status institution, one of only eight Colleges being awarded the status in the year.

University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)

Burnley College has a long established working relationship with UCLan and over 70 university level programmes are now offered at the new College / UCLan campus in Burnley.

The courses available through the University and the College are wide ranging in level and content.  A-Levels, BTECs, Diplomas, Apprenticeships, Foundation Degrees, HNCs and HNDs, degree programmes and postgraduate degrees are all on offer at the campus.

There is a specific emphasis on certain sectors including, Computing, Engineering and Science; Media and Creative Arts; and, Business Management and Leadership.  Indeed, new courses specialising in advanced manufacturing are unique in the country and have been designed with local employers.  For example UCLan Burnley have worked with aerospace company Aircelle to develop a range of courses, from management and leadership to advanced engineering, supporting the development of their workforce in order to grow the business and say competitive.
