BERTRAM’s Restaurant at Crow Wood in Burnley has once again been selected to take part in the prestigious Great British Cook Book.
Last week top chefs from all over Great Britain took part in the launch at the London venue of Le Cordon Bleu, who sponsor the cookbook.
The book, which is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and Hospitality Action, showcases recipes from celebrity chefs James Martin, Simon Rimmer, Michael Caines, and Rachel Khoo, as well as Bertram’s very own Spencer Burge and a host of other acclaimed and award winning chefs.
Book Founder Gary Allen, said: “The evening was a huge success, I was overwhelmed by the support of the Chefs who had travelled far and wide to be part of the evening, it has been a long rollercoaster ride of emotions and it was amazing to meet in them in person.”
Spencer Burge, Bertram’s Head Chef, added: “We were delighted that Bertram’s has once again been included in The Great British Cook Book. It’s a mark of our rapid progress and the exceptional quality of our team that we are now seen amongst such illustrious company.
“This is our second year supporting MacMillan Cancer research and Hospitality action and we are very proud of our inclusion in the Great British Cookbook.
“After the success of our first entry “Toffee Popcorn” last year, this time we submitted a recipe called “Chocolate Lime” which consists of Lime Cheesecake, Chocolate, Ginger & Pistachio Truffles, Apple and Lime Semi Gel, Honeycomb and Red Velvet Sponge. The dish features on the Bertram’s weekend specials menu!”
