InBusinessBurnley – Issue 12

2016 is turning out to be a great year for Burnley. Our beloved club is back in the Premiership, which will once again see the town’s profile soar as match coverage is beamed around the world. Our home-grown athlete, Sophie Hitchon nicknamed ‘Glamour with the hammer’, returns from Rio with a Bronze Medal, and another OBE is awarded to one of Burnley’s businessmen, Tony Grimshaw OBE, for his work in international trade. Quite a list of accolades putting Burnley in the press for all the right reasons once again.

Another proud moment for Burnley this year is the 30th anniversary of VEKA being in the town, and to acknowledge their passion and commitment to Burnley we have a special VEKA feature. As one of Burnley’s largest companies VEKA is a huge part of the town’s manufacturing heritage, who have grown from a modest 30,000 sq.ft. plant in 1986 to the whopping 400,000 sq.ft facility it is today, and we wish all the team at VEKA a happy anniversary.

From manufacturing to digital, Burnley is home to several world class companies at the forefront of both sectors. Burnley is a hub of digital innovation and recognises the importance and impact that growing the digital sector can have on its economy. A special Digital Burnley feature highlights what Burnley is doing to develop its digital hub and to create the digiteers of the future.

First class businesses in first class premises and on the subject of premises we are delighted to bring you a fantastic office feature on the stunning  new town centre office complex of insurance giant Endsleigh.
