As 2018 comes to a close and 2019 hovers on the horizon we take stock of what has been a whirlwind of a year for Burnley and look forward to 2019 with excitement and confidence.

It’s been another great year for the town with new investments, developments, and further private sector growth.With the new Local Plan and Town Centre Masterplan setting the stage for a further 10 years of growth, with land allocated for quality business sites and quality housing sites, developers can be confident in investing in Burnley. Burnley Bridge South, part of Eshton’s Burnley Bridge Employment Gateway situated at Junction 9 M65, has been allocated as proposed employment land which is set to bring 1,300 new jobs to the town.

The Burnley Bondholders and Burnley Council took Burnley to Manchester with an Invest in Burnley event, showcasing the transformations and economic growth in Burnley to an audience of over 150 key investors and influencers, with a view to bringing new investment in housing, retail and leisure to the town.

2019 is Burnley Business Awards year and the awards will be launching for entries in January – so look out for the ‘open for entries’ launch in the new year.
