30,000 copies of the 2017 Burnley Lifestyle magazine rolled off the printing press this week ready for distribution across the UK and abroad.
3,000 copies of the popular magazine will be available for pick-up in Manchester’s Victoria and Piccadilly railway stations, to promote the lifestyle and commuter opportunities which can be accessed via the direct rail link from Manchester to Burnley to the visitors travelling through the stations, as well as being distributed across the North West and the UK to hotels, restaurants, Tourist Information Centres busy motorway stop off points, and key visitor attraction destinations.
The magazine which is part funded by advertising, is produced as part of the Burnley Bondholder Brand campaign, to promote all the positive aspects of Burnley, to attract new visitors, new investors, new residents, and is used as a recruitment aid for businesses looking to recruit from outside the area.
It is also a wonderful local pride publication, with many local residents happy to see the positive attributes of their home town showcased in the magazine.
The Burnley magazine editor (and Burnley Bondholder Brand PR & Marketing Officer) Joanne Etherington said: “It is wonderful working on the magazine and meeting a range of local people of all ages who feature in the magazine who make Burnley such a friendly welcoming place.”
“There are so many inspiring stories from people of all ages, and I hope some of the stories inspire our readers.
“Themes in this year’s magazine feature come under headings of exhilarating, mouth-watering, inspiring, town centre offering, visiting, living and sporting, with something to appeal to everyone, and there’s a special Padiham feature in this year’s edition.”
“The aim is to change perceptions of our Town, to feature the transformations and investment underway, and the stunning countryside and lifestyle offer around us. The magazine gets spotted in hotels, restaurants and bars across the country, and was spotted in a trendy bar in London last year amongst some of the leading national magazines, spreading the #BrilliantBurnley word.
“We received over 1,000 requests on the Visit Lancashire website last year from people from all over the UK and abroad requesting the magazine.
“Local residents also like to send the magazine to friends and relatives across the globe to proudly promote their hometown.”
Joanne added: “I’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me pull the magazine together, to everyone involved in the features, to the lead photographer Andy Ford, and to creative-council.net for the design.”
“It’s an annual magazine and a bit like the Forth Bridge, as soon as you’ve finished you are starting again! So if anyone has a story they think would be worthy of featuring in the magazine don’t hesitate to get in touch. ”
