Burnley the first town in England to welcome NKD Pizza

  • NKD Pizza will open in Burnley on 6th July – the first in the UK outside of Edinburgh
  • The pizza franchise will be located on Trafalgar Street
  • Burnley is the first to open in a six-store deal, with Manchester the second location on the cards

Burnley is set to welcome the first NKD Pizza outside of Edinburgh in a coup for the town, Burnley.co.uk and Burnley Social can exclusively reveal.

The NKD Pizza franchise will open on Trafalgar Street on July 6th and is the first in a six-store deal signed by the franchise owners.

The franchise owners said: “We are excited to open the NKD flagship store here in Burnley and we look forward to welcoming everyone. We will offer top-quality products and great value for money and our friendly team are ready and happy to help in any way they can.”

NKD Pizza is made from an ancestral dough using ten grains including buckwheat, quinoa and brown rice. The more typical white dough will also be available should customers prefer this option. The pizza names and flavour combinations will be slightly different to what they may expect, making it an exciting new food establishment for the town.

Mr Clouston said: “We are currently working on an all-new NKD Pizza look, feel and taste and the Burnley franchise will launch with this new and exciting direction. We are currently working hard to update our menu and website, which will be ready for the launch in Burnley on July 6th.

“We want to be a disruptor in the sector and we are excited to kick-start this in the UK, especially during the current difficult period we all find ourselves in. We are delighted to have the local franchise owners on board and look forward to working alongside the Burnley business community, which has shown innovation and resilience during this period.

“We hope people in Burnley enjoy what we have to offer.”

The pizzas will come in one size and people can either collect from the Trafalgar Street premises or have them delivered. Delivery is available within a five-mile radius.

On July 6th, a special offer will launch and run until the end of August. All pizzas ordered online with the code GETNKDBURNLEY and collected from the store will cost £4.99, limited to one order per person. The usual price will be £9.99. There will also be a variety of sides available.

The Trafalgar Street location is ideally placed close to UCLan at Victoria Mill, with Burnley committed to welcoming 4,000 university students by 2025. It’s also opposite W4D?, the popular dessert bar that has become a firm favourite in the town.
