Everyone knows that, as a borough, Burnley is properly into its football!
For such a small place to have a great Premier League Club is something we’re all proud of and we think England’s successes this year in the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament has further brought out an ever-present pride in the area.
Former Burnley man, Kieran Trippier witnessed that magical moment from the side-lines on Wednesday when captain Harry Kane scored that second goal for England. Shortly after, our hometown legend was on the pitch helping us secure the much-needed 2-1 victory.
Tomorrow will be the first major final for England in 55 years and we’re pretty sure every pub and bar in Burnley and Padiham will show the game. Some notable hotspots will be places like The Turf Pub, The Flying Dutchman, The Royal Dyche, Thornton Arms and Fitzpatricks (Although, chances are these are all fully booked – count your lucky stars if you’ve bagged yourself a table!).
Whether you’ve managed to book somewhere in town or are watching the big game from the comfort of your own home, we here at burnley.co.uk hope you all enjoy yourselves and hope we’ll all be celebrating when that final whistle blows. COME ON ENGLAND!
