Themis launches innovative programme to support school leavers planning to become the next top Apprentices
Themis, the successful Apprenticeship and Business Training arm of Burnley College, has launched an innovative Pre-Apprenticeship programme to ensure school leavers can start their journey to career success in September – despite the impact that Covid-19 continues to have on the business world.
Developed and led by industry-expert Tutors and Trainers with significant experience in their chosen industries, the Pre-Apprenticeship programme offers industry-standard training in Burnley College’s specialist facilities while school leavers (those who have already applied for a Themis Apprenticeship and others still considering their future) secure their ideal employer.
Neil Burrows, Director of Themis, said:
“The effects of Covid-19 are being felt within industry and this is, understandably, a concern to those school leavers who have applied for a Themis Apprenticeship or who are still considering their options after GCSEs.
“The Pre-Apprenticeship programme has been developed to ensure that every young person who sees an apprenticeship as their route to career success can start that journey in September – even without an employer in place.
“We know that Themis Apprentices are determined, motivated and resilient. We know they want to make a start on developing the skills, acquiring the knowledge and perfecting the behaviours which will make them a leader in their chosen industry. And that’s exactly what the Pre-Apprenticeship programme will provide, bridging the gap between their GCSEs and the start of their ideal apprenticeship with a top employer.
“The Pre-Apprenticeship programme will reflect the initial skills, knowledge and behaviours that Themis Apprentices cover as they embark on their Apprenticeship, empowering those who have taken part to hit the ground running with their new employer and blend seamlessly into the workplace.”
“My message to anyone leaving school this summer is clear: an apprenticeship route is still open to you. There is still time to make that choice; there is still the opportunity to start that journey via a Pre-Apprenticeship programme in September.”
Pre-Apprenticeship training will take place in the industry-standard training suites at Burnley College’s £100 million town centre Campus, where Themis recruiters will work proactively with
those young people to identify apprenticeship opportunities and maximise their interview skills and CV to make an impression with employers.
Neil Burrows said:
“Themis is renown for its innovation and its commitment to providing its apprentices with the enhanced skills, knowledge and behaviours which make them stand out from the crowd in any industry.
“The Pre-Apprenticeship programme has been developed to ensure that the next generation of ambitious, determined Themis Apprentices – vital for the future prosperity of our region – are given every opportunity to make an impact.
“We are committed to providing the leaders of tomorrow with that vital first step towards career success through the Pre-Apprenticeship programme: we will work tirelessly to ensure Covid-19 will not define their futures but will showcase their resilience, alongside their ability to adapt and persevere.”
